Primary Focus Areas in the First Construction Stage
When seating arrangements need to be executed, it is great to have a good seat map solution where you can easily and quickly build the event layout, make revisions and place groups of guests together. A good solution also ensures that guests get a good view of where they are placed at the event.
The current seat map module at live/BACKEND Ticket can do a lot of things, but based on several of your queries we have had full focus over the past 3 months on optimizing it on a number of areas. Among other things, in relation to increasing the possibility to set up things yourself and to make changes after the sale has started to allow guests to change seats etc.
If everything goes according to plan, we expect to be able to welcome the first customers into the new seat map module in approx. 1.5 months. Additionally, it is our ambition to be able to meet the needs of all current customers by the end of the year.
Our primary focus areas in the first version are:
Integration at all stages of sales and full consistency: In the current seat map module, customers are only guaranteed a place when buying through the webshop, while POS/door sales/backend sales do not ensure this. In the new seat map module, we will ensure that all tickets are allocated a seat if required by an event.
Editable seat map templates: You will be able to create and edit your seat maps via our new seat map editor as well as to insert graphics and name places. It will be fast and super easy!
Seat map administration: You will also be able to manage a seat map for an event, i.e. open/close/hide seats as well as move guests when the seat maps are in “Administrative” mode.
Better usability on all devices: The current seat map module works very well on mobile, but we want to make it work even better via many small tweaks that optimize the mobile experience.
Gradual migration
There are some features in the old seat map module that we will not be supported in the first version of the new seat map module. Of course, everything that the old seat map module can do today will be included in the new solution, but it will happen gradually. The current seat map module will therefore continue to operate until all needs can be met with the new one. Of course, we also make sure that no events are lost when the old seat map is permanently replaced.
We will continuously offer to migrate customers and seat maps when we believe that their needs are optimally covered in the new seat map module.
